The ecological commitments of our Morbihan campsite
Find out more about the actions taken by the campsite to preserve and protect the environment. The 3-star Les Genêts campsite in Sarzeau, Morbihan, offers environmentally-friendly accommodation for your vacations in Southern Brittany.
We work hard every day to respect the environment, but we know that we still have a long way to go to leave our children a beautiful planet to live in. For us, for you, this must be a daily concern. We are at your disposal for any information you may require on our products, means and techniques. Happy vacations “Vakañsoù mat deoc’h” and take the time to look at our beautiful nature!
Our actions for sustainable and responsible tourism
Waste management
Recycling bins are available at the entrance to Les Genêts campsite. It’s easy to sort paper, plastic packaging and glass (glass containers 70 m down on the right as you leave the campsite).
Another gesture for the environment: use reusable bottles and containers to limit the use of plastic.
We have also installed compost bins in the center of the campsite, with the compost being reused to fertilize the plantations at Les Genêts.
Finally, in the games room, you’ll find a collection box for used batteries.
Energy management
For several years now, the Les Genêts campsite has equipped all its facilities with low-energy bulbs and LEDs, as well as timers for outdoor lights and sanitary facilities.
We install mobile homes with good insulation and economical equipment.
Simple gestures: turn off the lights when you move from one room to another, limit the use of heating and switch off all equipment when you’re away.
We strive to make our energy consumption 100% efficient.
Water management
Everyone knows that water is a precious resource. Let’s not forget that, in Morbihan as elsewhere, we use chemicals to make water drinkable, as well as to treat wastewater.
At the Les Genêts campsite in Sarzeau, we installed water-saving devices on taps and a 10,000 L rainwater recovery tank with a programmable drip irrigation system.
A good way of keeping the roots of our plants cool, we mulched the flowerbeds with shredded plant waste.
You can help: let us know if there’s a leak, don’t leave taps running unnecessarily, don’t let your children play with the water, but explain to them why.
Reasoned daily maintenance
When it comes to maintenance, too, we take an ecological and reasoned approach:
- We do not use any chemical treatment products on the plots and driveways of the 3-star Les Genêts campsite.
- Mulching with shredded plant waste, hand-pulling weeds, trimming hedges and mowing our lawns electrically.
- Automatic dosage control of pool products to avoid overconsumption and filtration with Zeofine volcanic rock to reduce chlorine by 50%.
